(i) The Habit of calumny that is the habit of slander, carping, backbiting, defaming. This habit is to be found ingrained in the basic nature of the philosophy of this age, the philosophy of atomismistics materialism. Rationalism is the basic criterion of judgment of this philosophy of atomic materialism, but because rationalism in this philosophy of materialism has been made the instrument of a philosophy of the greed of wealth and the world, and has been subjected to the limitations of science the critical attitude of the rationalism has been perverted into something which has assumed the form of slander. Only that the tenor of the modern slander is of intellectual turn, and bears the name of propaganda, the word which has received its modified meanings in this modern age. Formerly the word propaganda had meant the propagation only. This habit of slander of this modern materialistic philosophy has had a considerable share in the creation of the atomic bomb and it has affected the mankind in every phase of life.
(1) The second but more basic cause of the appearance of the appearance of atomic energy and the atomic bomb has been the desire of and engrossment in the accumulation of the wealth of this world. The discovery of the atomic energy has occurred on a particular point in the course of the research of a science conducted with the special motive that of obtaining dominion over nature for material benefits as the main object of man’s life, through the science-guided, machine-ridden systematic, continuous, infinite, ever-increasing and eternal progress of wealth, worldly comforts and dominion over nature. Thus the atomic energy and the atomic bomb is not only the creation of the desire of and engrossment in the accumulation of wealth of this world, but also, now, after the serious hazards incident on the atomic energy and the atomic bomb are known, this very same cause that is, the desire of and the involvement in the accumulation of wealth is there tone sure the stay of the atomic energy in the world due to the necessity of atomic energy for the universal industrial set up for infinite, ever-increasing progress.
(2) The third cause of the appearance of the atomic energy and the atomic bomb is the hope of for-ever living in this world, and believing also that this life is eternal and forever increasing in riches through five-yearly plans. So solicitous in the durability the works of this world as if this life was regarded as eternal.
Now there can be no two opinions that these three above mentioned causes, namely the habit of slander, the love of wealth accumulation and engrossment in it, and the over-solicitude in the durability of the works of the world are, that have resulted in the appearance of the atomic energy and the atomic bomb, and these are the very causes that would now ensure the tay of the atomic energy along with its complete list of the hazards that are inseparably incident on it.
And now eventually, if the characterization of the atomic energy in the previous pages is correct in the sight of any scientist sequainted with the atomic energy and the nuclear science, then know that it has been the characterization of the fire of Hotama as is to be found characterized by the Quran. Thus the identity between the Hotama and the atomic energy has been established. So also has been established the identity between the cause of the punishment of Al-Hotama as assigned by the Quran and the causes of the appearance of atomic energy and its offspring the atomic bomb and the atomic radiations as found in this world. Surely the causes of the punishment of Al-Hotama as pointed out by the Quran and the causes of the appearance of the atomic energy as could be found in this world are exactly identical, rather the same. And if this mankind would play either the ostrich or the dared evil in the case of atomic energy and ignore its hazards, then, well, it could well be said in tune with the world that let it be so, this life and this world is transient only. Whether the mankind is destroyed by the hails of the atomic bombs, or whether this life perished under the long term decaying influence of the atomic radiations of the atomic energy for peace, all will pass away. Every torture, every affliction will be forgotten in the silence of the grave. But the crux of the matter is that those who deservedly will perish in the atomic destruction, they must be prepared to visit the hell of Al-Hotama in the next world, for, the causes which are responsible for the appearance of the atomic energy, the very same causes are the conditions for the punishment of the fire of the hell of Al-Hotama. This atomic energy is the mere replica, the representation of Al-Hotama of the next world, Justas the ordinary fire in this world is the representation of the fire of the hell of the next world, and so also is the garden the representation of the paradise of the next eternal world.
Now just read the text of the prophecy of the Quran regarding Al-Hotama .It is as follows:-
“Woe to every backbiter, defamer, who amasseth wealth (of this world) and arrangeth it (against the future). He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. Nay, for verily he will be cast into al-Hotama. And what could teach thee what Al-Hotama is? It is the fire of Allah enkindled. It is (a fire) closed in on them in outstretched columns: (Quran-civ-Al-Hotama)
But mark the interrogative in the text of the prophecy “what could teach thee what Al-Hotama is? This implies the terribleness of the phenomenon and the complexity of the subject. As far as the terribleness of the atomic hell, the temporal replica of Al-Hotama is concerned, ask the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. And as far as the complexity of the subject of nuclear science is concerned ask the atomist and the radiobiologist who baffled by the intricacies of the subject do but grope their way blindly through the nuclear labyrinths without any hope of finding their way or the destination.
And note also the words of the prophecy: “Nay, for verily he will be cast into al-Hotama. Every student of the history of the atomic energy and of the atomic bomb knows how tactfully, how tenaciously and how resolutely the hand of providence has thrown and is still throwing the nations into the snares of the atomic hell despite their knowledge now of the grievous hoards of the atomic energy, to mean that until the basic cause of the appearance of the atomic energy are removed no power on earth can avoid or avert the atomic destruction from this present mankind.
The prophecy of the Quran regarding Al-Hotama, a prophecy which describe the atomic hell is as follows:-
“Woe to every backbiter, defamer, who amasseth wealth (of this world) and arrangeth it (against the future).
The prophecy of the Quran about the Hotama and the case of the atomic hell:-
(I) The Quran says: “The backbiter and the defamer”. The philosophy of atomismistics materialism is in nature a philosophy of backbiting and defaming against the doctrines of faith. It is a philosophy that stands in exact antithesis to the philosophy of faith as regards this world against the next world.
(II) The Quran says: Who amasseth wealth of this world and arrangeth it against the future”.
The Baconian philosophy of atomism is the philosophy whose basic design is the attainment of man’s dominion over nature for material benefit as man’s business on earth, through continuous, systematic scientific research endlessly. And so this modern progress is science-guided, continuous, systematic, endless and infinite means of accumulating wealth of this world and arranging it for future in systematic five-yearly plans to eternity.
(III) The Quran says: “He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal”.
It means that so over-solicitous is he in the affair of this world and its wealth as if he thinks he has to live in this world for-ever. And so is the case of the followers of Baconian philosophy of worldly dominion. They want to perpetuate their worldly progress and their name by erecting durable factories, buildings and other monuments of the scientific achievements, and indeed the man of this age has no other thought than perpetuating this progress. The next world is forgotten and forsaken.
(IV) The Quran says:” No, verily this shall not be so”.
Indeed everyone today, ignorant or knowledgeable, thinks this progress to be eternal. But none thinks that this philosophy in itself is un-natural. Along with the constructive factors are to be found emerging the factors of destruction. The three ingredients, namely the slander, wealth accumulation and complete engrossment in the world with a belief in living for ever in this world actually ah e worked like the three ingredients of gun powder, which when combine in specific proportions, produce the dynamic which explodes. And so also all the achievements of centuries long scientific struggle might come to nought in no time in the atomic warfare, or if the atomic war is delayed, the destruction would come in a slow, lingering manner of decay with identically atomic misery, through atomic energy for peace. The atomic energy and its offspring the atomic bomb is the logical and scientific consequence of the Baconian endless a systematic progress. Nature wound ultimately revolt and subvert man’s design of dominion over nature.
(V) The Quran says, “Verily he will be cast into Al--Hotama”.
Some of the reciters of the Quran have read the word in dual to mean that not only he himself but his wealth too will be cast into Al-Hotama.
(i) The three ingredients have produced the atomic hell.
(ii) The nature of this modern science-guided machine-ridden progress is such that it is for-ever on the increase, and along with it is the industrial set up on increase and so is on the increase the requirement of energy. The fast, ever-increasing demand and consumption of the means of energy have swallowed up the existing resources of energy on earth. Now if the sources of energy dwindle and ultimately are exhausted, at the industrial set up breaks down with the consequent famine. The energy in sight is the energy derived from the atoms. The mankind the fore, in spite of knowledge of the dreadful hazards incident on the adoption of atomic energy is so blind to swallow the poison. To mean that the acute necessity has so blinded the helpless mankind that they in spite of their knowledge have to play the blind and the legendary ostrich.
(iii) The optimism of the scientist comes to aid the blindness of the people in this respect. It is a measure of the simplicity of the scientist that in spite of his knowledge of the measure of the difficulty of the subject of the nuclear science and uncontrollability coupled with its complexity and remoteness and minuteness that defy man’s ken and power, entertains a hope of someday somehow making some miraculous discovery that would prove to be the remedy of all atomic ills. He recommends the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes neglecting the fact that the experiment of research-cum-utility in the case of atomic energy has its peculiarity, namely, that this experiment means the usage of human beings as guinea pigs, and in case the atomic energy proved harmful the die will be for-ever cast without any possibility of a remedy. As a matter of course the scientist would have first made the force of atomic energy as harmless, subservient in the laboratory and then recommend its use. But he is proving too hasty, and this haste is for no other reason than that of the acute necessity of energy in the world. The optimism of the scientist respecting the atomic energy is till-conceived, and his hope in a discovery that would serve as the remedy of atomic ills is misleading only and will never come true. His attitude in this respect is most unscientific and this mankind will surely go right into the flames of the atomic hell. Anyone who knows the nature of the nuclear science will not find it difficult to know the absurdity of the hope of the scientist in making some such discovery. The atomic radiation is far too clever, far too insidious, and far too insurgent and would outwit all the ingenuity of the most ingenious of the scientist .It is not man that will emerge as triumphant in this conflict between the man and the atomic giant, but rather the signs are that it is the atomic giant that will consume the man, for, this giant is equipped with such weapons as are sure in their efficacy and are much beyond the power of man to cope with successfully.
(iv) Any student of the history of the atomic energy and the atomic bomb will not fail to discern the tact. Strategy and resolution with which some power is involving the nations of the world in the snare of this deadly octopus. Man today can descry the flee but cannot spy the crocodile.
(v) The Quran says, “And what could teach thee what al-Hotama is “?
This mode of interrogation implies, according to the early interpreters of the Quran, the extreme terribleness of the phenomenon. But now that we see the transient replica of Al-Hotama in the form of atomic hell, we judge besides the extreme terribleness the extreme complexity of the subject, and today we can pose this very question to the nuclear scientist himself. If we ask the nuclear scientist, what could tech thee what nuclear science is? He shall certainly say, nothing it may seem a paradox, yet a paradox it is not, that man’s knowledge of the subject of nuclear science is extremely meager despite all the greatly remarkable ingenuity of the scientist, and the great stores of the knowledge of this age of knowledge. And though the scientist is as usual very much optimistic about the future discoveries, yet in fact the chances of any advancement in this line are very meager.
(i) Terribleness:-
(a) The terribleness of atomic weapons is known to everyone.
Only one has to imagine this entire earth under the follies of atomic bombs. This is a possibility which might happen any moment despite all the serious and sincere efforts of the people in the curtailments of armaments, and no atomic war treaties. At the most they may succeed in delaying the atomic war, but to think of banning the war for ever from this world is only well-wishing. Again the causes which have been responsible for the appearance of the atomic bombs are the very causes of wars between people. The greed of wealth is the basic factor common to both; we need not, however, to spend many words on describing the horrors of the atomic wears, and the terrors of the atomic bomb.
(b) The terribleness of atomic energy for peace:-
The terribleness of the atomic weapons is known to everyone, yet the terribleness of that atomic energy for peace is not known to many. The label of peace actually has concealed the ugly side of the face. A volume and a very bulky one is needed to describe the terribleness of the atomic energy for peace as it is called. So terrible is the atomic energy, indeed, that when the word peace is attached to it, the word peace itself assumed a very terrible aspect indeed. Peace and atomic energy are contradiction in terms. We are not used to hyperbolism, but the subject is such as would hyperbole all hyperbolism. Man, however, is not in the habit of imagining the things that are out of sight. However, when the things appear actually before the sight, they terrify, even if they are something of a whit a falling Skylab.
As far as the subject of atomic energy for peace is concerned, let it be remembered, that it is simply impossible to provide any protection to the mankind in general from the deadly radiations, which are inherent in the very nature of atomic energy whether you use it with the label of peace or war. If I say this, I mean this. No protection against radiation whatsoever can be provided to hose millions who happen to reside in the neigh bourhood of reactors whose numbers will increase to alarming proportions in time. Nor is it possible to stop the reactors from leaking or explosing to inundate the neighbouring districts with deadly, poisonous radiations. The radio-genetic effects are even more terrible. The mutated genes would in the long run turn the populations into a herd of cancer ridden and miserable chimeras, men, animals and the plants and all in some future generation. The people of this generation, however, might find some solace in this respect, for it is highly likely that this present generation will pass away without any such effects of radiation, reaping the benefits of atomic energy and leaving the genetic debt to be paid by some future generation. But perhaps many who speak in favor of the atomic energy for peace do not know this side of the affair at all. Do not judge the state of the atomic energy or peace at this present situation of the atomic energy for peace. But a few reactors today maybe found functioning in the entire world. But time will soon come when this earth will be besprinkled with reactors and other kinds of atomic plants. From every powerhouse in the world down to every private car, including factories, railway engines, aero planes, and sub-marines will have their own reactors. This earth will due to the old exploding reactors when be enclosed in a new tows of radiations. It will then be like a huge hospital inhabited by miserable races of chimeras that will after a prolonged specs of a miserable existences perish leaving this earth as uninhabitable furnace of radiation. And let it be known that the genes mutated by radiation cannot be detected. They move from generation to generation undetected until eventually in some generation they make their existence manifest in the form of abnormal birth. And further nothing could be done after the mutated genes have made themselves manifest in abnormal births. This abnormality being inheritable the monsters beget monsters, till the whole race becomes extinct. The same could be said of animals and plants. They also would perish after turning into chimeras, indeed miserable ones.
(2) Complicacy of nuclear science:-
The actions and reactions of nuclear phenomena occur in the nuclear, sub atomic and beyond microscopic regions, and hence the difficulty of the scientist. It has not been possible hitherto to rearrange the disturbed nuclei of atoms into their original order, and hence the hitherto impossibility of any cure or treatment of radiation sickness. And judging from the situation it appears that the possibility of ever being able to rearrange the disturbed nuclei of atoms may never arrive. The science hitherto has been able to point out the hazards of the atomic energy but has not been able to do anything in avoiding or averting those hazards. Great is the more scientists. Great indeed is his knowledge and has many other qualities, but he is not to blame, the nature of the subject is too complex, too baffling.
(VI) The Quran says: “It is fire of Allah”.
Fire of Allah indeed the atomic hell is. There is no protection against this fire of Allah. There is no protection against the atomic bomb explosion. There is no protection against radiation of the atomic energy. The only method of achieving protection from atomic radiation is to covert source of radiation, completely, materially. And this is not possible in the case of mankind in general. The reactors leak and explode, and it is not possible to cover every individual in the neighborhood of the reactors completely, materially. And let it be remembered that there is no hope of ever correcting this situation. It will forever remain so. The world population will forever be at the mercy of the elements.
(VII) The Quran says “Hotama”.
Hotama means a crusher. Atomic energy is a crushing fire. It is generated by crushing the binding of the atomic nucleus, and it is a distinctive characteristic of atomic energy, which distinguishes it from every other kind of energy.
(VIII) The Quran says, “Hotama is a fire which leaps up onto the hearts”.
The atomic energy is not only generated within the nuclei of atoms, but also all the further reactions of its radiations take place in the nuclei. The nucleus and the heart as is well known are synonyms and used as such by the scientists themselves.
(IX) The Quran say, “It is a fire closed in on them”.
The atomic energy explosions and its radiations show the treaties of encompassing.
(X) The Quran says, “It is a fire closed in on them in outstretched columns”.
Outstretched columns are not only the symbolic feature of the atomic bomb explosion, but also the radioactive atomic particles raise columns. This fact becomes clear when we see the ratio of the size of the tiny particles to the height of their jumps. A particle makes jumps millions of times its own radius, some-thing not observed in the general physical world, of visible substances.
